Commitment and responsibility
This work is held with care and intention, and tends to suit people who value a consistent, contained therapeutic relationship. IFS therapy works best when there is a commitment to the process. This includes attending sessions regularly, reflecting on the work between sessions, and taking responsibility for your wellbeing outside of therapy. It is not about rescue or quick fixes. It is about developing a relationship with me, and in turn yourself, that can support meaningful change over time.
Cancellations
I require 24 hours' notice for cancellations or changes to sessions. Sessions cancelled with less notice are charged at the full fee, except in exceptional circumstances. This policy protects the therapeutic space and the time held for you.
How long is therapy?
There is no fixed duration. The length of therapy varies depending on individual needs and circumstances. We can discuss a general sense of direction if that feels helpful, you can leave at any time and I check in about this on a monthly basis. Open communication is always encouraged, so that we can take time to reflect, bring the work to a thoughtful close, or adjust our pace and focus when needed.
Crisis support
This practice is not set up to provide urgent crisis care. If you are experiencing acute distress, feel unsafe, or believe you may be a risk to yourself or others, please contact 999 or your local mental health crisis team.
For international prospective clients
As this practice is based in the UK, if you are residing or physically located outside the UK we will first need to confirm that it is appropriate for us to work together within relevant regulatory and jurisdictional frameworks. Where needed, additional terms will be agreed in writing.
Taking the next step
If you're interested in working together, you're welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation. This is offered free of charge and provides an opportunity to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and see whether it feels like a good fit — for both of us. Please note that spaces are limited.
